- Why Caddy server?
+ It automatically handles certs. I've genuinely never had to think about them.
- Why Alpine?
+ It's minimal, fast, (OpenRC + musl libc) while remaining so very easy and familiar to me (it's still Linux). Also it's ridiculously easy to install and maintain, making it easy to whip up VM's, or reduntant instances of my whole server.

PC specs?
It's my old gaming PC from 2019, but still holds up more than well.

  1. CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
  2. GPU: RX 5600XT 6GB VRAM (from MSI) sitting idle as it's doing server duty now instead of playing games
  3. RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000 MT/s (I think the brand is Adata)
  4. MOBO: Aorus B550i
  5. PSU: I don't remember
The PSU and MOBO are newer (from 2024 instead of 2019) because they got burned by lightning
